The Grid 2/21/2019: The Edge of Reason

The Grid is a column featuring acts on Chiswick Radio’s radar, along with all pertinent information to get you started.

The Edge of Reason  are a German hard rock band that have made it easy for me to power through writing this due to their very hard and melodic sound . They have heir released two albums (2017’s Broken but Not Torn and 2012’s How Can I Drop This Mask) and released a single late last year (“River”).  Also their insiders (go here) are getting previews to new music that hasn’t been released yet.

Act: The Edge of Reason (TEOR)

Genre: Hard Rock / Metal

Based:  Founded in 2012, in Regensburg, Germany (lyrics in English)

What We Think:  Highly recommended. As mentioned above, these guys rock hard but very melodic- it’s loud but clean sounding too.   I dare say it, but given the emotional depth of their lyrics, can I call TEOR “emo-metal”?   There’s top-notch lead vocals here, but five star growls too. Their sound reminds me of Bullet for My Valentine, Atreyu and hints of Linkin Park and further back, Faith No More. Also recommend their YouTube page, where they’ve made some well-produced videos.
